How do I identify each MGP mouse?

(AUG68UAG)

Taking some Acot6 mutant mice as an example:

Colony Prefix Name Genotype Coat Sex D.O.B. Age (weeks) Earclip
MBML MBML36.3a Acot6/+ Black Male 17-Nov-09 3.2 1L
MBML MBML36.3e Acot6/+ Black Female 17-Nov-09 3.2 1L
MBML MBML39.3a Acot6/+ Black Male 15-Nov-09 3.5 1L 2R
MBML MBML39.3b Acot6/+ Black Female 15-Nov-09 3.5 2L

The Identity of each mouse is built up from an unique WTSI internal four letter prefix (MBML; colony prefix), the pairing number (36 or 39), the litter number within that pairing (3), and the pup born within that litter ( a,b,c,d,e, etc. = 1,2,3,4, 5, etc.).

The ear mark (1L, 1L2R etc., where L=Left and R=Right) describes the ear clipping pattern to identify the individual mouse.
